About the Event

Japan has emerged to be a main immigrant destination in Asia.  However, the country has also witnessed a steady outflow of people. Over 200,000 Japanese nationals reside in Europe as long-term residents. Who are the Japanese that are moving to Europe? Why and how are they moving? This panel brings together academics and practitioners who have participated in, researched about, serviced and supported this migration.  It is part of our EU-Horizon project AspirE (Asian Prospects in (re)migration to and within Europe).

Languages: English and Japanese. Translation is not provided.

Moderator:

Gracia Liu-Farrer Professor, Graduate School of Asia Pacific Studies, Waseda University

Speakers:

Miyako Hayakawa, JSPS post-doctoral fellow, Université Libre de Bruxelles
